Do you love speculative fiction that transports you to distant worlds, possible futures, and realms of imagination? Stories filled with mystery, wonder, danger, and discovery? If so, you’re in good company.

This site is my workshop, observatory, and launch pad — a place where I share fiction in progress, short stories, experiments, excerpts, worldbuilding ideas, and occasional flights of creative madness. Some pieces arrive polished. Others are still warm from the engine room.
I write mostly science fiction, especially character-driven stories grounded in believable futures and real human struggles. But I also have a soft spot for space opera, adventure, speculative fantasy, and the occasional tale that refuses to fit neatly into any category at all.

You’ll currently find two major projects taking shape here.
One is The Silence of Ancient Light, an ongoing first-contact mystery following a starship crew investigating the first evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence — only to uncover the haunting remains of a civilization long gone.
The other is a newer project: Bad Decisions and Burning Thrusters, a fast-moving science fiction adventure involving questionable judgment, dangerous cargo runs, unreliable technology, and at least one crew that probably should not be trusted with a spacecraft.
I also occasionally wander into other corners of the genre universe. If epic narrative poetry set against the backdrop of interstellar civilization sounds appealing, you may enjoy To Wander the Silent Dark.
So have a look around. Read a scene or two. Leave a comment if something resonates, if you spot a mistake, or if you simply want to talk stories.
Here’s to starships and spacesuits, swords and sandals, swashbucklers and swindlers, heroes and heartbreakers…
Nice blog, Matt!
