Do you love a good speculative story, a novel that transports you to distant worlds, possible futures, or perhaps to realms of pure imagination and flights of fantasy? I know I do, and if you’re here, there’s a good chance you do, too.
On these pages, I hope to bring you along on my own flights of imagination. Here you can read drafts of my story ideas, short stories and flash fiction that I’ll publish here first, and excerpts and beginnings for novels as I work on them. Here you can be my beta reader, and yes, I would love to hear what you think! Perhaps you have an idea how I can improve upon the story, or maybe you’ve uncovered a mistake. Let me know in the comments! Let’s start a dialogue.
What sorts of stories do I write? Mostly “hard” science fiction, but I also love a good space opera or speculative fantasy too, so who knows? Someday you may see something here that isn’t just about the crews of high-tech spaceships traveling to distant stars (and what they find when they get there).

In fact, right now, check out my current work-in-progress, a developing first draft novel about a starship crew investigating the first evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence, only to find the ruins of a long-dead civilization, in The Silence of Ancient Light (latest scene updated 9 May 2021: So Many Stars, and So Quiet).
Here’s to starships and spacesuits, swords and sandals, swashbucklers and swindlers, heroes and heartbreakers…
